ABOUT
I’m a colombian artist based in Nantes, France, fifth-year student at the École des Beaux-Arts de Nantes, where I am currently pursuing the Diplôme National Supérieur d’Expression Plastique (DNSEP). Originally from the Colombian Caribbean, I also hold a degree in architecture from the Universidad Nacional de Colombia and have experience working in the field of cultural heritage.
My artistic practice is deeply rooted in the cultural imaginaries of my region of origin and draws in particular from the visual and symbolic languages of the Latin American mestizo Baroque. I approach this tradition as a way of inhabiting contradiction, excess, and the superimposition of memories and temporalities. Within this framework, I explore the body—particularly the male body—as a territory of conflict and a field of symbolic tension.
My practice unfolds through processes of constructing, destroying, and reconstructing images across painting, drawing, sculpture, and collage. I often begin with figurative images that I fragment and reassemble, in order to create hybrid configurations in which different materials, references, forces and temporalities intersect. These compositions generate dense, layered images that interrogate desire, memory, and human relationships, while embracing a worldview shaped by multiplicity, fragmentation, and contradiction.

Je suis un artiste colombien basé à Nantes, France, étudiant en cinquième année à l’École des Beaux-Arts de Nantes, où je prépare actuellement le Diplôme National Supérieur d’Expression Plastique (DNSEP). Originaire des Caraïbes colombiennes, je suis également diplômé en architecture de l’Universidad Nacional de Colombia avec une expérience professionnelle dans le domaine du patrimoine culturel.
Ma pratique artistique est profondément ancrée dans les imaginaires culturels de ma région d’origine et s’inspire en particulier des langages visuels et symboliques du baroque métissé latino-américain. J’aborde cette tradition comme un moyen d’habiter la contradiction, l’excès et la superposition des mémoires et des temporalités. Dans ce cadre, j’explore le corps – notamment le corps masculin – comme un territoire de conflit et un champ de tension symbolique.
Ma pratique se déploie à travers des processus de construction, de destruction et de reconstruction d’images à travers la peinture, le dessin, la sculpture et le collage. Je pars souvent d’images figuratives que je fragmente et réassemble, afin de créer des configurations hybrides où se croisent différents matériaux, références, forces et temporalités. Ces compositions génèrent des images denses et stratifiées qui interrogent le désir, la mémoire et les relations humaines, tout en embrassant une vision du monde façonnée par la multiplicité, la fragmentation et la contradiction.
