Torso en ruinas (Torso in Ruins) embodies a hollowed-out and fragmented anatomy whose parts exhibit varying degrees of continuity. The central volume retains a recognizable form—the torso—while two additional fragments expand and call into question its possible restitution, casting doubt on the very existence of an original body. A series of metal bars pierces the torso and introduces a formal system foreign to anatomy; it supports the volume and transforms it into a line. The reconstruction is thus conceived as a new articulation: it seeks to produce, through the relationships between matter, line, and void, a new configuration of the body.
ES. Torso en ruinas encarna una anatomía vaciada y fragmentada cuyas partes presentan distintos grados de continuidad. El volumen central conserva una forma reconocible —el torso—, mientras dos fragmentos suplementarios expanden y problematizan su posible restitución, poniendo en entredicho la existencia misma de un cuerpo original. Una serie de barras metálicas atraviesa el torso e introduce un sistema formal ajeno a la anatomía, sostiene el volumen y lo traslada hacia la línea. La reconstrucción se plantea así como una nueva articulación: busca producir, mediante las relaciones entre materia, línea y vacío, una nueva configuración del cuerpo.
FR. Torso en ruinas (Torse en ruines) incarne une anatomie vidée et fragmentée dont les parties présentent différents degrés de continuité. Le volume central conserve une forme reconnaissable — le torse —, tandis que deux fragments supplémentaires élargissent et remettent en question sa restitution éventuelle, remettant ainsi en cause l’existence même d’un corps d’origine. Une série de barres métalliques traverse le torse et introduit un système formel étranger à l’anatomie ; elle soutient le volume et le transpose vers la ligne. La reconstruction s’impose ainsi comme une nouvelle articulation : elle cherche à produire, à travers les relations entre la matière, la ligne et le vide, une nouvelle configuration du corps.
